{"id":217,"date":"2019-12-04T14:04:46","date_gmt":"2019-12-04T13:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/snf-115.vm.cloud.wacren.net\/conference\/?p=217"},"modified":"2019-12-04T14:04:48","modified_gmt":"2019-12-04T13:04:48","slug":"eko-konnect-users-conference-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/2020.eko-konnect.org.ng\/?p=217","title":{"rendered":"Eko-Konnect Users Conference 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Annual Conference of the&nbsp;Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative&nbsp;is focused&nbsp;on research and education networking activities in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This&nbsp;Conference brings together practitioners in the research and education networking community, librarians, researchers, policymakers, and service providers from across Nigeria and the WACREN region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme of this year\u2019s conference is <strong>\u201cDeveloping a&nbsp;National Repository for Science &amp; Humanities\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/indico.wacren.net\/event\/87\/images\/151-2020_AGM_Banner.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will take advantage of the WACREN partnership with the National Institute of Informatics (NII) on research infrastructures to host&nbsp;a&nbsp;developer workshop for interested parties on the Invenio-based WEKO3 multi-tenancy repository platform.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following days will have sessions geared at&nbsp;promoting&nbsp;open scholarship, preserving and providing access to digital content and the&nbsp;support of research data management.&nbsp; The stakeholders in the conference will explore the next practical steps towards providing&nbsp;national&nbsp;research infrastructures as the central theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel sessions on the last day, the Nigerian Youth Internet Governance Forum convenes students and other young people&nbsp;to discuss national issues pertaining to Internet Governance and exploit&nbsp;the opportunities available within a&nbsp;model that&nbsp;leverages the NREN to anchor&nbsp;National and Regional Youth IGF&nbsp;initiatives (NRIs).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Annual Conference of the&nbsp;Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative&nbsp;is focused&nbsp;on research and education networking activities in Nigeria.
